FABTECH/Toyota/Toyo Tires Rick Huseman Racing VICTORIOUS at CORR Antelope Valley Claiming FIRST Pro-4 WIN
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Lancaster, California – September 17, 2007 Rick Huseman and his crew worked hard throughout the mid-season break of the 2007 CORR season. There were no extended vacations or time away from the shop. The crew tore into the race truck and never looked back during the entire hiatus. The hard work paid off handsomely as Rick Huseman Racing put the FABTECH/Toyota/Toyo Tires Tundra on the podium on both Saturday and Sunday at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds.
Thousands of fans packed the stadium in the high-desert just outside of downtown Los Angeles, California as the nation’s top off road racers returned to the track for the first time since June. Combining pure driving talent and excellent equipment, Huseman faced off against the fierce competition readied to claim victory. Huseman, a seasoned off-road racing veteran, set the fastest qualifying time to begin the weekend. After an impressive qualifying session the #36 FABTECH/Toyota/Toyo Tires race truck took to the track late Saturday afternoon and raced hard door-to-door with Johnny Greaves. Huseman focused on the task at hand and got across the finish line in first position claiming his first Pro 4 victory.
“We brought the truck right out of the shop readyfor a fast weekend and we’re more than satisfied with the performance. Capturing our first Pro-4 win in history is exciting. Toyota gave his an incredible engine package and FABTECH suspension combined with Toyo Tires really hooked up,” commented a smiling Huseman.
Starting on the pole position in the CORR Lucas Oil Series Pro 4 point’s race, Rick Huseman slid sideways through turns one and two racing door-to-door with Greaves. Huseman gave way to Greaves early in the race and both were chased by Douglas. After several yellow caution flags, the green flag dropped as Rick Huseman drove to the lead position after Greaves went over the K-rail in turn one. With three laps remaining, Huseman did what he does best and that’s drive harder and faster than the rest.
“This is so awesome. I don’t know what to say other than I need to thank my sponsors and my brothers for their support,” said Huseman. “After Johnny went over the wall, I thought drive nice, calm and slow; the track was so fast I just held on.”
After Saturday’s victory, the crew wasted no time to celebrate their first victory. They were right back at it making several minor adjustments preparing for Sunday’s afternoon Jason Baldwin Memorial Cup Qualifier race broadcasted on NBC Sports.
Sunday’s late afternoon race saw Rick Huseman jump to the front of the pack and battle with Greaves and Cenni. The CORR .8 mile race course set inside the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds set the scene for some of the best racing of the season thus far. Huseman pushed his Toyota V-8 powered Toyota Tundra against long time rival, Johnny Greaves, also driving a Toyota V-8 powered Toyota Tundra and they brought the fans to their feet for another epic race. Huseman claimed his second podium of the weekend in his triumphant return to the second half of the 2007 CORR Lucas Oil Series season.
