Riverside, CALIFORNIA – Facing the opposition with poise and determination, Rick Huseman continues his march towards the 2007 CORR Lucas Oil Series Championship with an impressive top finish in Round 8 of the nationally televised off road racing series.
Arriving to “The Quarry” at the Chula Vista International Raceway, Huseman and his veteran crew rallied to prepare the No. 36 FABTECH / Toyo Tires / Toyota Tundra for what was an incredible battle between the two Toyota teams. Overcoming truck issues before and during the Friday practice sessions, Rick Huseman took to the race course in front of a crowd of more than 10,000 fans packed into the stadium all standing on their feet.
From the start, the No.36 truck established a fast pace, charging for position among the elite field of CORR Pro 4 trucks. The fast blue and yellow race truck maintained position in the front of the field while charging towards the lead. The course went under a yellow caution flag when Greaves and Adrian Cenni got together on the high-banked turn one, taking both trucks from the front of the pack. Huseman’s Toyota-powered race machine dueled in the final laps with Carl Renezeder before taking the checkered flag.
“Impressive in this race was the power of the Toyota engine that TRD continues to produce, allowing us to race against the bigger and more powerful engines in the field. Combined with the exceptional traction that Toyo Tires provided to us once again, I believe we are on the right track to compete for this year’s season championship. Finishing second after the victory we had in Antelope Valley is important for our team. We are determined to finish out the season strong. Thanks to FABTECH, Toyota TRD, Toyo, Monster Energy and all of our sponsors for their continued support,” commented racer – Rick Huseman.
The daring Chula Vista International Raceway is the latest rage in the world of off road closed course racing, as racers and fans alike have voiced their resounding seal of approval with the track that challenges the best off road racers in the world. Flying over 150 feet in the No. 36 CORR Pro 4 race truck, Rick Huseman has demonstrated why he is currently in second position contending for the 2007 CORR Series Point’s Championship. Focused on a series championship, Rick Huseman Racing continues to charge hard on the race course. The team is headed to Texas Motor Speedway with a resilience to reach victory lane.
Rick Huseman Racing will race at the Texas Motor Speedway on October 19-20, 2007 and invites all fans to come by the Huseman Racing PIT Zone for posters, pictures and the opportunity to talk with Rick Huseman and his race crew throughout the race weekend.
