Huseman Rallies FABTECH/Toyota
TRD/Toyo Tires #36 Pro 4 To Victory in Jason Baldwin Cup Race
Televised for NBC Sports
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
October 21, 2007
Dallas, TEXAS – Coming into one of the
nation’s premier motor sports facilities at Texas Motor
Speedway in Dallas, Texas, FABTECH’s Rick Huseman and
his crew arrived with a vengeance. Only a month prior, Rick
Huseman Racing scored their first ever CORR Pro 4 victory
over a stacked field of the nation’s top drivers. Tasting
victory and celebrating a long overdue win, this team had
one thing in mind upon arriving to Texas Motor Speedway and
that was putting the #36 FABTECH/TRD/Toyo Tires race truck
into victory lane for the second time this season.
Qualifying in the number one position in the
Thursday late afternoon qualifier, Rick Huseman was not all
smiles as he exited the race truck. “The crew has continued
to give me a great truck at each race. ToyotaTRD engineers
have worked very closely with us on our motor package and
it performs. But as soon as I finished that qualifying run
something just wasn’t right and we decided to change
out motors. It was the right call as the new fresh out of
the box motor put us in the winner’s circle for the
second time in as many race weekends,” commented a smiling
Rick Huseman.
Huseman’s practice and qualifying was
near perfect as he put down some of the fastest laps throughout
Friday afternoon’s practice. Charging his #36 FABTECH/Toyota/Toyo
Tires Pro 4 around the Texas Motor Speedway was promising.
As Friday night’s Pro 4 race started, Huseman ran in
the front of the pack for the first half of the race until
he suffered contact with another racer that took out his rear
suspension forcing him to throttle back and run laps in hopes
of finishing the race.
Rick explained, “I was initially disappointed
with our performance, but racing door-to-door at speed is
difficult on trucks and components. The crew worked fast to
get the truck ready for Saturday’s practice and qualifying
runs and it truly paid off.”
Racing twice on Saturday evening is difficult in any motor
sport, but considering the huge horsepower that these off
road racing machines are saddled with and the fact that they
bump and grind all the way around the track, puts them at
an even high disadvantage of racing perfectly clean.
Huseman was determined to charge his FABTECH
blue and yellow painted machine to the top spot.
Leading the qualifying point’s race in the NBC televised
Jason Baldwin Memorial Cup Pro 4 Series, Rick Huseman wasted
no time in battling for the top position in a race that saw
heavy contact in the first lap causing a restart of the 11-truck
field. Once the green flag dropped, Huseman roared towards
the front of the pack racing hard against Greaves, Douglas,
Renezeder and LeDuc while the rest of the field fell to the
torrid pace that would see several of the top competitors
fall victim out of the running. Huseman pushed the #36 Pro
4 to the extreme in his quest for victory and he was rewarded
with his second Pro 4 victory of the 2007 season.
Standing in victory circle Rick shook his
head and commented, “I can’t thank my team, family,
friends and sponsors enough for their unwavering support all
season long. They have stood by us from the beginning starting
early in the off-season and now here we are with only one
race weekend to go and we’ve run at the top of the field
all season long. We’re excited to finish out the season
strong and hope to run up front in the final racing of the
year.”
