Riverside, CA (June 22, 2009) – The season that Rick Huseman has waited for throughout his entire racing career has all come together so far in first half of the 2009 race season. Huseman has raced his #36 MONSTER ENERGY/TRAXXAS/TOYOTA/TOYO Tires sponsored PRO 4X4 to victory in 5 of the 6 races so far this season. Huseman leads all PRO 4X4 racers by 29 points overall as he hunts for his first PRO 4X4 short course racing championship in his career.

It was spectacular as the Southern California native racer arrived to the Northwoods of Wisconsin in search of victory among the nation’s top ranked off road racers. Over 20,000 fans poured into the Crandon International Raceway for two rounds of smash mouth racing and that’s exactly what they saw once the elite TORC PRO 4X4 trucks took to the dirt. For 40 years, Crandon International Raceway has seen a barrage of professional racers come to the famed short course dirt track in search of greatness. Not many, however, have experienced what the MONSTER ENERGY sponsored racer endured over the weekend of racing.

Racing in front of 20,000 screaming fans and churning up softball size rocks from the dirt that has seen the likes of NASCAR’S Jimmy Johnson and Robby Gordon, Off Road Racing Champion Walker Evans, Jack Flannery and many others, Rick Huseman is now part of the legendary Crandon track history that will never fade away.

Huseman and his band of brothers trekked nonstop over 35 hours en route to a racecourse that celebrates its 40th anniversary this season. This is a trek that they have done many times in the past, but this time, they celebrated double victories in the ultra competitive PRO 4X4 class.

"Crandon is such a hard track to win at. Anything can happen any time here. It's a wide open long mile and a half long track and it's all about being able to be there at the end. Our strategy going into Saturday's race was to race conservative and compete for the season championship points. After the competition yellow flag, we were in good position behind Kyle LeDuc. We were able to get around him fairly easy and we never looked back. Our plan to run a conservative race worked right into our strategy, almost like it was preplanned," said a smiling Rick Huseman.

Capitalizing on Saturday's momentum, the crew worked hard for Sunday’s early round six race. On Sunday, PRO 4X4 racers raced both the TORC Round 6 race, as well as the Forest County Potawatomi Chairman’s CUP race, featuring PRO 4X4 and PRO 2WD racing against each other.

Sunday's PRO 4X4 race started off wild as Huseman and Curt LeDuc rubbed doors early in the race. However, by the midway caution, Huseman weaved his way through the field and took charge on the restart leading the pack of 800 horsepower four-wheel drive race trucks down turn one. Huseman ran in clean air out front of all the others on the way to yet another impressive victory. Sunday’s Round 6 win captivated his first ever back-to-back victories in his career at Crandon International Raceway, a feat that may not be repeated in many seasons.

It's still a long season and although anything can happen, we are striving to secure the season championship as soon as we can," said the 2009 Crandon International Raceway PRO 4X4 Champion.

Rick Huseman has accumulated five OAKLEY Bomb Run Awards over the course of the first six races of the season. The OAKLEY Bomb Run Award is given to the racer who sets the fastest lap time during each race and they are awarded trophies and stickers to place on the race truck and race hauler signifying the outstanding performance among off road racing's top racers. Over the course of the first six races, Huseman has accumulated 149 total season points giving him solid 20 point lead over Kyle LeDuc and 38 points over Johnny Greaves at 111 and Scott Douglas at 110 points. As previously mentioned, he’s won five of the six PRO 4X4 races so far this season.

The one-hour ESPN2 television show from the 2009 TORC Series Rounds 5-6 at Crandon International Raceway is set to air on June 28th on ESPN2 at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. In the one-hour ABC television show that was televised on June 7, 2009, the Monster Energy / TRAXXAS/TOYOTA/Toyo Tires sponsored Rick Huseman Racing was featured as he was victorious on Sunday in Round 4 of the 2009 TORC TRAXXAS Season Series.
